Swadee @ Bukit Timah

Came across this thai eating house, Thai Noodle House, on other blogs and decided to try it. Hidden in a small arcade in Coronation Road, it was a small air conditioned place. It was empty in the restuarant when we arrived as it was quite early, but the lunch time crowd soon swarmed the place. Tucking into a nice warm bowl of Tom Yum noodle soup, with morsels of papaya salad... mmm, delicious. Pinched a few mouthfuls of Phad Thai and Blachan Rice from my colleagues, and they tasted great too! No wonder it was recommended by so many people in Singapore, locals and expats alike. However, for those who like it spicy (like me), I have to say that it was slightly disappointing, but the taste more or less made up for it. Wasn't quite full after the meal, so we added dessert like chendol, tapioca and strong Thai coffee for me and another colleague. All in all, it might be slightly pricey, but hey, it good food! So check this out the next time you are in Bukit Timah!

Great Food @ Adam Road Hawker Centre!

Was having lunch one day at this popular hawker centre in Bukit Timah and was pondering over what to eat when I saw this long queue at a particular nasi lemak stall. Being a typical Singaporean, the first thought is simply: anything with a long queue must have good food! So queue I did, and good food it was. The rice was very fragrant and the chicken wing was fried to a crispy finish. And the chili did the nasi lemak much favour too, albeit slightly sweet. So if you have a craving for nasi lemak, here is one good place to go!

On another occassion, I tried the prawn noodle, yet another popular stall here. Though you will need to part with more bucks than you will expect, let me assure you that the money is well spent. Sweet succulent prawns await you when you order a bowl of the prawn noodles. The soup is thick and rich, and it will definitely leave you hungry for more (literally, because the serving size is not very big for a hungry customer).

So next time you are in Bukit Timah and have no idea what to eat, do check out these stalls out!
