Great Food @ Adam Road Hawker Centre!

Was having lunch one day at this popular hawker centre in Bukit Timah and was pondering over what to eat when I saw this long queue at a particular nasi lemak stall. Being a typical Singaporean, the first thought is simply: anything with a long queue must have good food! So queue I did, and good food it was. The rice was very fragrant and the chicken wing was fried to a crispy finish. And the chili did the nasi lemak much favour too, albeit slightly sweet. So if you have a craving for nasi lemak, here is one good place to go!

On another occassion, I tried the prawn noodle, yet another popular stall here. Though you will need to part with more bucks than you will expect, let me assure you that the money is well spent. Sweet succulent prawns await you when you order a bowl of the prawn noodles. The soup is thick and rich, and it will definitely leave you hungry for more (literally, because the serving size is not very big for a hungry customer).

So next time you are in Bukit Timah and have no idea what to eat, do check out these stalls out!

Dinner @ Zi Yean Restaurant

We were celebrating my partner's father's birthday, and once again, we patronised this Chinese restaurant that we often go: Zi Yean Restaurant. Taking a stroll up the gentle slope from Red Hill MRT, you will find the restuarant tucked away in the corner of a old HDB flat, brightly lit by a yellow signboard just on top of it. With its retro theme, complete with old style furniture, it serves great dishes, like the chicken with preserved vegetables and home made tofu. And on the day we were there, the shark fin soup was on offer, and each of us get to taste the great tasting soup, boiled with mushroom and chicken. Its light and refreshing, you should try it!
